Swift Water Rescue Workshop
Cost: $79 Time: 5pm Fri - 6pm Sun
The course is essential for new recreational boaters or longtime boaters alike. This workshop is designed to provide basic information on techniques and equipment for responding to river rescues. The emphasis of the class is on fast, low-tech and improvised rescue techniques to assess and perform low-risk, shore-based river rescues and how to evaluate and protect the scene. This course is designed to help rescuers aid others and at the same time help themselves. We will learn about foot entrapments, boat pins and wraps, shallow river crossing, throw bag rescues, technical ropes, anchors and tension systems. Trip includes transportation, some food, and some equipment.
** There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting Apr 30 at 5 pm, everyone must attend. **

Beginning Backpacking
Cost: $129 Time: 5-6pm

Ever wanted to try something new, but did not have the resources, training or time to do it? Now you can! Learn the basics of backpacking. Food protection, gear, weather, traveling, and all the other basics to get you out there exploring on your own! The beginning backpacking course will encompass three 1 hour classes May 6, 13, and 15 and end with a three day weekend trip May 16-18. All class room materials; gear, food, transportation and skilled guides are provided. If you have any questions, call Ben at 424-0499.

Basic Bike Maintenance
Cost: $9 Time: 5-7pm

We all know that cycling is a great way to keep you looking your best. Join The Work’s bike techs and learn how to tinker with your bike. Lean how to change a tire, adjust your breaks, adjust your derailleurs, and more. This class will teach you how to get that old bike back on the road and keep it in good working order. Don’t forget to bring your bike! Price does not include parts.

Intro to Surfing
Cost: $49 Time: 7am-7pm

We are going to Monterey to meet up with our instructors and hit the water. Surfing is a fun and exciting sport and you couldn’t ask for a better location than the Monterey Bay. If you have already taken this course or have equivalent knowledge and would like to join us, feel free to use this as a surfing trip.

San Francisco Self Guided Bike Tour/
Treasure Hunt
Cost: $39 Time: 8am-7pm

We will be headed to the city to do some site seeing, but in a whole new way. Join the OAP as we take the bikes through downtown San Francisco to really get to know the city. Everyone on the trip will be divided into groups and given a GPS unit so they can find the “Hidden Treasures” of San Francisco. Take pictures of what makes San Francisco the city it is. Then ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to meet the rest of the group and driver at the Presidio Yacht Club for dinner.

American River White Water Rafting Day Trip
Cost: $49 Time: 7:30am-7pm

The American River runs right through our own backyard, and has some of the greatest class III and IV rafting west of the Mississippi. This trip will get your adrenaline pumping. Join our experienced guides for a day of river running through rapids such as Satan’s Cesspool and Bouncing Rock. These trips fill up quick, so sign up soon!
