Three Libraries in one!
The Mitchell Memorial Library is really three libraries in one: a military library, an educational library, and a community library.
The award-winning Mitchell Memorial Library is one of the finest in the Air Mobility Command. It is stocked with more than 42,000 volumes including reference materials, best sellers, classics, special collections, educational, and recreational books.
The library furnishes resources in print, film, and microfiche. It subscribes to seven local and national newspapers and to more than 60 magazines. Over 200 audio and video cassettes are available for checkout.
Special services and equipment include personal computers, interlibrary
loans, photocopiers, magazine index, microfiche readers, special collections of Travis history and military aviation, typewriters, and dial-a-story at 424-3839.
Whether writing a research paper or just surfing the Net, the Mitchell Memorial Library's computing services offers guests an imporant tool for work or fun. Now the library's littlest patrons can be computer savvy too.
With the new Little Tykes computer system – ergonomically designed for children ages three to seven and loaded with lots of entertaining and educational software – little ones can now point and click their way to fun and learning.
